JONATHAN ROSSING PLACES 11TH AT NEW LAS VEGAS MARATHON
Las
Vegas, NV - RunCoachJason.com athlete Jonathan Rossing, a doctoral student in
communication and culture
at Indiana University, took eleventh place at the New Las Vegas Marathon on
December 10. His time of 2:41:42,
an average pace of 6:10 per mile, was a
personal record by six
minutes and 18 seconds.
Rossing won the International Gay Games Marathon
in July.
“I’m
very proud of Jonathan. His race
today was an example of how his courage enabled him to succeed in imperfect
conditions,” Coach
Jason Karp said.
“Despite running over half the race into a headwind, he still ran his
fastest time ever to place sixth at a major marathon, ending the year on a
great note. His training going
into this race has been stellar. He
will be on fire in 2007.”
Nearly
6,000 runners competed in the New Las Vegas Marathon,
which is the first marathon in history to run down the world famous Las Vegas
Strip.
