Get Ready for the 2010 Boston Marathon with

REVO2LT Marathon Training

Have you qualified for Boston?  Ready to run a faster marathon?  REVO2LT Marathon Training, the official marathon training program of RunCoachJason.com, is a unique, science-based program with flexible options to meet your needs and goals.  We’re not just a different program.  Were better.  REVO2LT Marathon Training is a model for the education-driven approach and out-of-the-box thinking that drive results and performance in ways that other marathon training programs do not.  Unlike other marathon training programs, you’ll get very specialized, individual coaching within a group support system of runners.

A
n acronym for the three main physiological factors of distance running performance — Running Economy, VO2max, and Lactate Threshold REVO2LT Marathon Training will target each of these factors so that you can run your best marathon.

Who: Runners who have qualified for the 2010 Boston Marathon.  Given
the large volume of work necessary to adequately prepare for a marathon, and to do it in only 21 weeks, this program requires that you have been running at least 25 miles per week and can run at least 8 miles at the start of the program.

When: November 21, 2009 – April 19, 2010, with Tuesday track workouts at 6:00 p.m. & Saturday long runs @ 8:00 a.m.

Where:
Long runs will take place at various locations around San Diego.  Track workouts will take place at Point Loma Nazarene University (for directions, click here).
The first run on Saturday, November 21 will begin at the Mission Bay Park Visitors’ Information Center, East Mission Bay Drive.

Why: With all of the marathon training programs out there, why should you join REVO
2LT Marathon Training™?  Because other programs don’t offer flexible options to attend to each runner’s needs and they often progress people too quickly.  That is a recipe for disaster.  At best, you won’t be adequately prepared to run 26.2 miles and, at worst, you’ll get injured.  That’s why REVO2LT Marathon Training™ requires you to have some running experience before starting the program.  You don’t have to be an elite or sub-elite runner; you just have to want to improve your marathon performance.

With REVO
2LT Marathon Training™, you will receive the most intelligent and thorough five-month preparation available.  To download the flyer, click here.

Track Workouts:

Track workouts will target specific physiological factors that will help you improve your marathon time, including lactate threshold (LT) and VO2max.  Dr. Karp will guide you through each workout to make sure you get the most out of it.

Long Runs:

Everyone will receive detailed directions for each long run.  PowerBar Gel will be provided during the runs along with Gatorade, the official sport drink that will be used at the aid stations of the Boston Marathon.

For the more experienced runners who have done many long runs in the past, some of the long runs will be replaced by a more quality, medium-long run with a portion run at lactate threshold pace.  These LT/LSD combo runs simulate the feelings of the marathon, use up muscle glycogen at a faster rate, and train your legs to run fast when they are fatigued.
